I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, specializing in racial and ethnic politics, political psychology, and political behavior. My book, Red, White, and Black: What Black Participation Teaches Us About American Democracy, develops the Democratic Stewardship framework, explaining how Black Americans sustain democratic participation under conditions of exclusion. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park.
